Kathmandu, July 22: Nepali swimmers left for Barcelona, Spain to take part in the 15th FINA World Swimming Championship on Monday.

 

Four Nepali swimmers are participating in the worlds that started from July 19 and conclude on August 4.

 

The national record holder Shiris Gurung will swim in 100 meter and 200 meter free style while Miraj Prajapati will compete in the men’s 50 meter free style and back stroke.

 

Similarly in the women’s section, record holder Shreya Dhital will be swimming in her 100 meter free style and 50 meter butterfly whereas Sophia Shah will take on 50 meter and 200 meter free style in the event.

 

Coach Aangden Lama and General Secretary of the Nepal Swimming Association Jagat Man Shrestha as a team manager left with the swimmers for Barcelona.

Likewise, the vice president Rajesh Bajracharya and member Bipin Timla also left for Barcelona to take part in the FINA Technical Seminar.
